Spelling – More prefix words, write each word 3 times in your spelling homework book.

Maths – 7 times table. You do not need to hand in any written homework for this but please practise the 7 times table including associated division facts for a test next Friday.

English – worksheet on similes, please complete in English homework books.

Reading – learn your poem lines for the Mother’s day assembly by Monday.

Puzzle solving. Choose only one of the puzzles to complete (there are 2 to choose from). Follow the instructions on the sheet and record solutions in your maths homework book.

Remember, 20-30 minutes per piece, and parents to sign each piece of homework. The standard of presentation in last week’s homework was very high – well done and keep it up 🙂

Spend 15-20 minutes playing this game where you convert between fractions and decimals. There are lot of different levels to play it at so start at a comfortable level then see how far you can challenge yourself with other levels or speeds.

Year 4: Art

Our art topic for the spring term is Insects. We began yesterday by studying the anatomical features of insects, and then learnt how to use HB pencils for sketching outlines, before using the darker B pencils for completing the drawings and adding detail. The children were encouraged to draw exactly what they saw, and focus on getting proportions of the anatomy accurate. Here are some examples.
